Horse Drawn Beach Bus - 1947

Before Eastern National operated a bus service along the seafront, the Crow brothers operated 2 very attractive horse-drawn landau carriages during the summer months. David Williams also operated the beach bus, also horse-drawn. The photograph shows passengers alighting the beach bus, from outside the old Rio Cinema. The 'attentive' man we think was Maurice Scott,  whose parents were coal merchants in Haven Road.
